New Year, New Margarita Recipes [custom image article]

You've waited 365 days for this - and now it's time to celebrate in style! The start of a new year is an exciting time, a chance to forget the past and move forward in wonder of what exciting times might be ahead. Not least of which concern the frozen margaritas you'll be mixing this year. 

The new year beckons with fresh flavors and novel ingredients that will spice things up. Embrace this turning of a new leaf with these exciting frozen concoction recipes for the new year:

Frozen Hibiscus Margarita 
Bright and beautiful, hibiscus flowers spread cheer, happiness and love, just what you need at the start of a new year. Capture their vivacious spirit in frozen concoction form with Frozen Hibiscus Margaritas. This recipe uses dried hibiscus flowers for a one-of-a-kind frozen drink that is sure to charm and beguile whomever takes a sip.  

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 
  • 1/2 cup sugar 
  • 2 tablespoons dried hibiscus flowers 
  • 4 ounces tequila 
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice 
  • Salt for glass rims 
  • Lime wedges for garnish 

Directions
Add the vanilla extract, sugar and dried hibiscus flowers to a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low and stir consistently until sugar is melted. Dip margarita glasses in water then in salt to line rims. Pour frozen margarita into glasses, garnish with lime wedges and enjoy. 

Japanese Cherry Blossom Margarita

Toast to the new beginnings of a fresh and blooming year with this creative Japanese Cherry Blossom Margarita. Made with sake and tequila, it's a delightful and original margarita that tastes as good as it looks. 

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup water 
  • 1/3 cup sugar 
  • 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice 
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice 
  • 2 ounces tequila
  • 2 ounces sake
  • 1 ounce cherry liqueur 
  • Sugar for glass rims 
  • Cherries for garnish 

Directions
Add the water, sugar, lemon juice and lime juice to a large glass, and mix until combined. Strawberry Sriracha Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups frozen strawberries
  • 4 ounces tequila 
  • Splash orange liqueur 
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sriracha sauce 
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • Sugar for glass rims 
  • Fresh strawberries for garnish

Directions
