How to Make a Delicious Chocolate Margarita
Whether it's dessert or the main course, Chocolate Margaritas are a popular cocktail that are only growing bigger. Regardless of if you want to make some for your friends or try this unique cocktail for the first time on your own, here's what you need to know.
Making the Chocolate Margarita
Chocolate Margaritas are sweeter and richer than most traditional margaritas, so you may not want too have more than one or two, but you'll thoroughly enjoy the ones you do have. Like traditional margaritas though, they are better frozen. So be sure to use your frozen concoction maker when whipping up this cocktail. Here's what you'll need to get started for a batch of chocolate margaritas:
- 6 ounces silver tequila
- 3 ounces chocolate liqueur
- 2 ounces chocolate sauce
- 4 ounces heavy cream
- 1 1/2 ounces citrus liqueur
- 1 splash lime juice
- 1 pinch cinnamon
Load up your frozen concoction maker's ice hopper to the fill line and add the remaining ingredients to the blender jar. Flip the switch and watch as your ingredients blend into a great cocktail. Pour into martini or margarita glasses and share with your friends or family. Instead of cream, you can use whole milk or half and half as well. Some people also like to add a splash of almond extract or orange juice. Play with the recipe until you find your perfect mix.
This sweet margarita is even better with garnishes. Feel free to coat the rim of your glass with powdered sugar, cookie crumbs or bits of chocolate. Additionally, you can top this drink with whipped cream, a piece of a chocolate bar or a cherry.
