Perfectly Patriotic Frozen Concoctions for the 4th
There are plenty of great ways to celebrate the Fourth of July. You can head to a local fair or festival, catch a baseball game, watch fireworks or go to a parade. One of our favorite celebrations is a little more laidback: Enjoying a frozen cocktail with your friends and family at a backyard cookout.
Try making one of these delicious, America-themed cocktails for your Fourth of July barbecue.
Yankee Doodle Smoothie
This sweet and creamy cocktail is a unique drink that's sure to pique the interest of your guests. Its patriotic name refers to the song that Americans sung with pride during the Revolutionary War. Here's what you'll need to make this cold cookout cocktail:
- 3 ounces or 2 shots citrus vodka
- 1 1/2 ounces citrus liqueur
- 3/4 cup strawberries
- 3/4 cup Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- Your frozen concoction maker.
Fill your margarita maker's ice compartment to the fill line. Take out the party machine's blender jar then measure out and pour in the vodka, triple sec, strawberries, yogurt and sugar. Hit your frozen concoction maker's switch to shave and blend your cocktail. Once it's done mixing you'll have a thoroughly combined, creamy pink drink. Serve with fresh strawberry and blueberry garnishes for a refreshing red, white and blue drink.
Margarita Iced Tea
Iced tea is a wildly popular drink in the U.S. throughout the South and the rest of the country. It isn't just delicious, but it's cold flavor is refreshing on a hot day. Improve on this classic recipe that takes iced tea one step further by making it into a blended drink. Gather these ingredients:

Add ice to the ice hopper and combine the remaining ingredients in your frozen concoction maker's blender jar. Turn the machine on and watch it do its work. You'll be left with a slushie, alcoholic iced tea that everyone will want a glass of. Serve with a lime instead of a lemon, though.

Make sure your ice reservoir is filled correctly and combine your remaining ingredients in your margarita machine, then turn it on. You'll end up with a frozen, tart and tasty drink. Garnish this summer special with a small American flag and lemon wedges.
