4 Frozen Drinks Inspired by Presidents

Independence Day celebrates the birth of the United States of America and the signing of the Declaration of Independence. This famous document was even signed by two soon-to-be presidents - John Adams and Thomas Jefferson - and set the groundwork for the country in which 43 people have served as the president of the U.S.

Whether you're throwing a backyard barbecue or are headed to the beach for the long weekend, celebrate the 4th of July by blending one of these tasty president-themed frozen drinks in your margarita maker

Try these tasty presidential cocktails. Try these tasty presidential cocktails.

1. Grover Cleveland Double Shot Margarita
Grover Cleveland was the only the U.S. president to serve two nonconsecutive terms in office. Celebrate the 22nd and 24th president with an equally redundant cocktail - this margarita packs a double punch of liquor. Here's what you'll need:

  • 6 ounces or 2 double shots of tequila
  • 3 ounces or 1 double shot of triple sec
  • 4.5 ounces fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 splash of orange juice
  • Ice
  • Your margarita maker.

Simply fill the ice compartment and mix your remaining ingredients in the margarita machine's blender jar. Serve in a margarita glass and sip presidentially.

2. Bull Moose Party Punch
After serving two terms as president in the early 1900s, Teddy Roosevelt created the Progressive Party, better known as the Bull Moose Party, named for the strong animal. Enjoy a frozen cocktail inspired by this early 20th century political party before prohibition started. Try this recipe:

  • 1.5 ounces maple syrup
  • 4.5 ounces rum
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1 splash lemon juice
  • Ice.

Let your party machine blend up this cocktail and serve in a cinnamon sugar-rimmed glass. It's the perfect drink for July 4 and autumn.

3. Frozen Im-peach-ment Bellini
Only two U.S. presidents have been impeached while in office: Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton. Although this isn't one of the more fun aspects of presidential history, it inspired us to create a fun July 4 cocktail. Try this frozen take on the classic peach bellini for a one-of-a-kind summer drink.

  • 1 1/2 cups peaches, pitted and cut
  • 2 1/2 sparkling wine
  • 3 ounce peach schnapps
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 splash lime juice
  • Ice.

Fill your ice reservoir and then pour the rest of your ingredients into your margarita machine's blender jar. Blend until your mixture is smooth. Serve in a tall glass and enjoy with friends.

4. Honest Abe Virgin Daiquiri
Abraham Lincoln didn't drink. If some of your guests are the same way, consider making them a tasty nonalcoholic drink in your margarita machine. Just mix in your favorite fruits and juice into your frozen concoction maker's blender jar along with some ice. You'll end up with a cross between a slushie and a smoothie that will keep your guest cool this July 4.
